Rob Howard, a native of Dallas (South Oak Cliff) and software development manager for Thomson Reuters is mostly notably known for his entrepreneurial achievement, DallasPeeps – a social network similar to Facebook before Facebook existed composed of the largest urban community of users between 1999 and 2006. After the success of DallasPeeps, Robert set his sights on the entertainment industry bridging the gap between technology and social entertainment with the founding of PartyChaser, a truly social outlet and physical social network for the Dallas/Fort Worth upscale urban population, hosting some of the largest celebrity events and parties in the DFW metroplex to this date.
Robert also serves on the Board of Directors for the Tarrant County Greater Fort Worth chapter of JDRF, a non-profit that leads the global type 1 diabetes research effort to keep people healthy and safe until we find a cure for the disease. Robert’s family has a personal connection to T1D. His daughter Jada, a Junior high dance and cheer athlete, now 13, was diagnosed at Cook’s Children in Fort Worth June 1, 2015 at the conclusion of her 2nd grade year. Since then, Robert and his family have been engaged JDRF volunteers and fundraisers, with his wife Sonja serving on the Volunteer Outreach committee, his daughter Jada an Ambassador and Gala volunteer, and his son Robert IV contributing in the family’s fundraising activities for the JDRF One Walk which has raised over $400,000 each year.
Robert has had a longstanding commitment to the community and volunteering activities beginning at an early age, volunteering at his family’s church – The Church of the Living God (1718 Overton. Rd. Dallas Texas) and assisting his family with the operations of multiple small businesses throughout the Dallas metroplex. His humble upbringings along with an executive presence and style of authenticity allow him to work well with others in a variety of settings. Robert is as an active member and advisor for the local TCU / Fort Worth Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc, a collegiate Greek-letter fraternity with over 160,000 alumni and undergraduate members worldwide. In addition, he serves as a member of the Mosier Valley Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas, Free and Accepted Masons.
Robert graduated from the University of North Texas studying Business/Public Administration, Electrical Engineering and Software development; most recently graduating from The University of Dallas with a Masters of Business Administration degree in Information Technology & Service Management. Professionally he works at Thomson Reuters, a Canadian multinational media conglomerate most recognized as the parent company to Reuters News as a Technology and Development manager in Dallas for the enterprise Digital Experience technology team comprising a global team of Fullstack engineering technologists.
