Our vision is to be the global leader of high quality and high impact educational services and resources and life programming that will allow students to grow into positive contributing members of society and impact thousands of families worldwide through top-tier resources.
Why We Exist
Black Tutors of Social Media brings together other black-owned private tutoring resources in one marketplace to serve students of color and not of color globally. The goal is to close achievement gaps for students that all providers of BTSM serve within the community at large. Through six types of community programming, we will continue to close belief and opportunity gaps as well. As time progresses, BTSM will help connect students, parents, and educators with tutoring and support services in their local areas and give students the opportunity to look up to tutors who look like them and have the same experiences they had. BTSM helps the economy, community, and empowers students to be their best academically and in life.
Jay Veal
FounderJay is the Founder of Black Tutors of Social Media, a Dallas and Atlanta based edtech nonprofit organization created to not only have a directory of the best and hottest black owned private tutoring companies in the world, but it is an org that will provide services to the community. These services include free tutoring funded by donors, financial literacy programming, college tours, mentorship (personal/career), etiquette, and travel opportunities for people of color.
Jay Veal is also the CEO of INC Education, the #1 African-American owned private education company in the Southern US serving students of all ages in STEM and beyond. INC also offers academic coaching/counseling, consulting, workshops, mentoring, resume writing, literature reviews, ghostwriting services, homeschooling, and more.
He is also Founder/CEO of The Jay Veal Brand which is a Dallas-based premier consulting brand that deploys education, business, and credit consulting services as well as speaking services (Host, Panelist, Keynote, Workshop Presenter) and was a part of the Black Enterprise Content Contributor Network. The Jay Veal Brand’s target market is entrepreneurs, school districts (administrators and teachers), and corporations for the delivery of our services in consulting, professional development, curriculum dev and design, and speaking.
Jay is also CEO for Dallas’ newest Beauty Education brand, INC Beauty where they provide a seamless and world-class cosmetic and esthetics education experience that blends lifestyle and beauty effortlessly while revealing confidence and character. INC Beauty maintains an innovative professional brand while striving to delight every client as part of their core values of Passion, Innovation, Excellence and Creativity.
In addition, he is a 2019 Black Enterprise Modern Man and 2019 United Nations Global Leadership Award Honoree for SDG 1 Goal of Quality Education. Jay is a 2018 Forbes Fellow and 2 Time TEDx Speaker from 2018 and 2019 in Dallas and New York. He’s a 2017 Dallas Business Journal Top 40 Under 40, named one of Dallas’ Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs of DFW by Voyage Magazine, and 2018 Hidden Figures of Dallas Top STEM Influencers. They have been featured in 45 media outlets including the Black Enterprise, Southern Dallas Magazine, Mogul Millennial, Exceptional People Magazine, Equanimity Magazine, Millennials To Watch, Voyage Dallas, 40 Magazine, National Urban League and more.
